New Release: “Psychedelic Lunch”, di Walter Prati, Daniele Cavallanti e Toni Boselli
Roma, 30 maggio 2026 – Esce oggi per Folderol Psychedelic Lunch, il disco del trio formato da Walter Prati (violoncello, elettronica), Daniele Cavallanti (sax tenore, ney) e Toni Boselli (batteria, percussioni). Sette brani in cui tre storie musicali distanti — l’elettroacustica di ricerca, il free jazz di matrice spirituale, la percussività libera — convergono in un linguaggio comune, senza che nessuna di esse rinunci alla propria natura.
Jazz, musica contemporanea ed elettronica non si succedono come stili, ma si alternano come strategie sonore all’interno di un unico flusso. Ne nasce un suono in movimento costante, in cui l’improvvisazione si fa stato di attenzione condivisa più che esibizione individuale. Lo dichiarano già i titoli: dal latino Nos Sumus Pars Omnium Entium — «siamo parte di tutti gli esseri» — fino al brano che dà il nome al disco, Psychedelic Lunch: We Are But a Part of All Beings. È una psichedelia non edonistica ma partecipativa, quasi liturgica: un’idea di trasformazione che passa per il rito condiviso più che per l’esperienza solitaria.
La copertina porta un dipinto realizzato per il disco dall’artista Marcella Casu, Anche a chi non ne ha (2026). Una scena di commensalità a terra in cui, sotto i piatti, tracciata in bianco sul telo scuro, affiora la formula di struttura di una molecola. Commensalità e materia, gesto antico e notazione scientifica convivono nello stesso quadro, in dialogo diretto con la poetica del disco: ciò che si condivide — il cibo, il suono — è anche ciò che trasforma chi lo riceve.
Il disco sarà presentato dal vivo domani, 31 maggio 2026, allo Zuma Fest, festival dedicato a musica e psichedelia, alle ore 16:00 sul Palco Lambro della Cascina Cappuccina di Melegnano (Milano).

Rome, May 30, 2026 – Out today on Folderol, Psychedelic Lunch is the album by the trio of Walter Prati (cello, electronics), Daniele Cavallanti (tenor sax, ney) and Toni Boselli (drums, percussion). Across seven pieces, three distant musical histories — research electroacoustics, spiritual free jazz, free percussion — converge into a shared language, none of them giving up its own nature.
Jazz, contemporary music and electronics do not follow one another as styles, but alternate as sound strategies within a single flow. What emerges is a sound in constant motion, in which improvisation becomes a state of shared attention rather than individual display. The titles say as much: from the Latin Nos Sumus Pars Omnium Entium — “we are part of all beings” — to the title track, Psychedelic Lunch: We Are But a Part of All Beings. This is a psychedelia that is not hedonistic but participatory, almost liturgical: an idea of transformation that runs through shared ritual rather than solitary experience.
The cover features a painting made for the album by the artist Marcella Casu, Anche a chi non ne ha (“Even to Those Who Have None”, 2026). A scene of people sharing a meal on the ground where, beneath the plates, traced in white on the dark cloth, the structural formula of a molecule emerges. Conviviality and matter, ancient gesture and scientific notation share the same frame, in direct dialogue with the album’s poetics: what is shared — food, sound — is also what transforms whoever receives it.
The album will be presented live tomorrow, 31 May 2026, at Zuma Fest, a festival devoted to music and psychedelia, at 4:00 pm on the Palco Lambro stage of the Cascina Cappuccina in Melegnano (Milan).
