MU is the imaginary continent said to have dominated the Pacific Ocean in ancient times before sinking beneath its waters; MU is the word Zen monks use to express the concept of emptiness; MU is the duo of Federica Vecchio and Adriano Lanzi, now nearly a decade into their sonic journey through post-minimalism, drone music, avant-folk, and psychedelia.

“Third Trip To Mu” is a systematic exploration of imaginary geographies—alluding to interior spaces no less real than any physical place—comprises six studio compositions and six episodes improvised live. The cornerstone of MU’s musical practice remains, as always, ecstatic disorientation, the blurring of codes between composition (exploded, open-ended) and improvisation (which never loses sight of form, however spontaneous, and structure), acoustic and electronic, immediate gesture and pre-recorded material.
